Furry Hoops and Faeire Hair by Spinfinity Creations

WOW! It’s been a very busy and exciting summer for Spinfinity Dance Creations…I have spent most of the summer working as as stage crew, building stages at some of the best music and entertainment festivals in the country. Learning stage design was key to my dream of designing my own stage for fire and spin dancers and circus and aerial artists. The highlight of the summer was working at Rothbury Music Festival in Michigan.

After returning to Minneapolis, I was offered a job working with Kelly Guttenfelder at Lost Staging. I now have my own fully equipped craft and sewing room in the warehouse, ready to create all of the wonderful costumes, clothing, crafts and art I can dream up! The best addition to my world this season, though, has been my new partner in Spinfinity Dance Creations, Azure Blue. A very talented creative artist, Azure has brought my vision of Spinfinity to life through his beautiful sense of design for costumes and visual art, and ability to produce displays that existed before only in my imagination.

Our newest creations are FURRY HOOPS and FAERIE HAIR…both are seen in the photo above of me with my new friend, Elena, who is holding her very first hoop! We made it custom for her at Harvest Fest in Harmony Park, in Geneva Minnesota. Harvest Fest was a first for Spinfinity Creations, too…it was our first vending booth at Harmony Park! Special thanks to Grandma James, the whole Wookiefoot family and Harmony Park for such a great experience and another fantastic festival.

In my next blog I’ll give a recap of the first annual Earthshake Drum and Dance Summit that was held last weekend at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. until then, keep dancing….

I supply the hoops for all classes and parties, and I have hoops available that you can purchase and take home to enjoy. I also have the Hoop Girl DVDs “Hoopdance for Beginners” and “The Hoopdance Workout” for you to use at home to further your practice and increase your fun!

  I  I have had SO much fun this summer creating costumes and clothing for festival goers all over the US using Light Up Wire! This hat was the 2nd one that I made. It’s hard to see the wire during the day, so I will post more photos, and video, too, of all of the Light Up Wire projects that I have done so far over the next few days. When I return to the road for Coalescence Fest in October, I will have wireless internet access so that I can post photos much more quickly!

Thanks to everyone at Project Earth , and especially to Wookiefoot, who are so fantastic to throw the Project Earth Festival, and to Grandma James, the vending coordinator, who made our experience vending there so so wonderful!

Hi there! Melissa here, finally deciding to post some things I have swirling around in my head.

I am extremely excited to be a contributing artist with Spinfinity Creations, and to finally be able to see my dream of Fire Scene Zine.com become a reality, an online magazine for all things around the world that tell the stories of Fire Dancing.

We NEED to make art for the world to see, and to use, and play with! It’s important for everyone

to open up their hearts and minds to be be able to see and feel more clearly what is going on in

the world we live in. By playing with fun toys like hula hoops, poi,staff, etc.. we are helping

create a bigger shift in consciousness. Also art is one of the biggest eye openers there is! I

feel like being apart of this blog and the art we are trying to make is something that I am

compelled to do.

If there is anyone out there who makes or has ideas for re-created art please contact us through

our site, or through email and we will gladly try to work together to make something happen! We

would love to showcase anything that is fun,eco-friendly and made from the heart! We have an

etsy store, and as far as I can tell, “the more the merrier” is the way to go in this business.

I/we go to festivals a lot and can also sell things that way, so let’s talk! we can figure out

something, you know these are just ideas just floating around…..
